Three brand new pieces are now on display at Exhibit A in Corning, NY. The show features myself, Robin Cass, and Jackie Pancari. It's a dream to show with these ladies!
GLASS INVITATIONAL 2014 October 10 - December 13, 2014 RECEPTION: Friday, October 17, 6:00 - 9:00 PM http://www.exh-a.com/ David and I have finished the first of our collaborative pieces (and just in time to ship it out the door)! "Both as a tool and as an image, the crucible has become an evocative unifying element in the art of a small but significant group of sculptors working in crafts media. Artists of "The Crucible Project" exhibition work collaboratively in clay, metal and glass without concerns for ownership, fusing design and technical expertise in the production of a collective body of work. The "Crucible Project" is curated by Whitney Forsyth." Visit the Alexandre Hogue Gallery's website. David and I just finished co-teaching a course at Pilchuck Glass School. We were so fortunate to have two GREAT teaching assitants, Jesse Nelson and Orion Becker, and the best group of students we could have asked for. The other instructors were absolutely inspiring. David and I can't wait to teach together again, and in the meatime, we are continuing to work on the collaborative work that we've started. More to come!
I am very grateful to have been invited to be a visiting artist at my alma mater, the glass department at Rochester Institute of Technology. For two weeks, I was working with David Schnuckel to continue our first collaborative body of work. I also gave a lecture about my artistic practice, the Pilchuck Glass School summer program (where I currently work as registrar and education coordinator), and did a demonstration of the pate de verre process. It is always a pleasure to go back.
At the end of September, I was invited to teach in place of my friend and colleague, Jon Chapman, in the glass department at UWSP. It was a pleasure to go back and work with the students and faculty.
